Privacy Policy
Ticket Taxi LLC – Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Welcome to Ticket Taxi's Privacy Policy. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information Ticket Taxi LLC ("Ticket Taxi," "we," "us," or "our") collects about you, how we use and share that information, and your rights and choices regarding your information. This Policy applies when you use our website, mobile application, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is designed to be read in plain English. If you have any questions about our privacy practices, please contact us at [email protected] or using the contact information provided at the end of this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
When you use Ticket Taxi, we collect information in a few different ways. The information we collect generally falls into three categories: (A) information you provide to us, (B) information we collect automatically, and (C) information we receive from third parties. Below we describe each of these categories in more detail.
A. Information You Provide to Us
Account and Profile Information: When you create an account or use our Service to buy or sell tickets, you provide us with personal information. This may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and password. If you are a seller, we may also collect additional information such as your payment payout details (e.g., bank account or PayPal email) and taxpayer identification (for example, if we need to issue you a 1099 form for ticket sale earnings).
Order and Payment Information: When you purchase tickets through Ticket Taxi, you will provide payment information. This may include credit card or debit card numbers and expiration dates (or other payment method details). We use third-party payment processors to handle payment transactions. These processors will collect and process your payment information securely on our behalf. We do not store your full credit card numbers on our servers, but we will receive information such as the amount of the transaction, the payment method used, and a confirmation of payment. We also collect details of the tickets you purchase or sell (such as event, venue, seat location, and price).
Communications and Support: If you contact us directly (for example, via customer support inquiries, emails, or chat), we will receive the content of those communications and any other information you choose to provide. If we ask you for information for customer service (such as order numbers or details about an issue), we will collect what you provide in that context.
Preferences: You may also provide information about your preferences, such as your favorite teams, artists, or types of events, or settings within our app (like opting in to push notifications or location services). Providing this information is optional, but it can help us personalize your experience (for example, to show you relevant events).
B. Information We Collect Automatically
When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our platform.
- Device and Usage Information: We collect information about the device you use to access Ticket Taxi. This includes your device's IP address, browser type, device type (e.g., iPhone, Android), operating system, and app version. We also log information about your use of the Service, such as the pages or screens you view, the dates and times of access, the referring and exit URLs, and your interactions (for example, what tickets or events you view or search for, and what purchases or sales you make).
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: Like many online services, we use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to collect usage data and improve our Service. Cookies are small text files that websites or apps save to your device to store information. They help us recognize you, remember your preferences, and understand how you use our site. For example, we may use cookies to keep you logged in, to remember your event search preferences, or to track aggregate usage of our website. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, but note that some parts of our Service might not work properly if you disable cookies. For more details, see the "Your Choices" section below.
- Location Information: If you use our mobile app, we may collect geolocation data (such as approximate location based on your IP address, or precise location if you grant permission on your mobile device). We use location information to show you relevant events near you or to prevent fraudulent activity (for instance, detecting if a login occurs from an unusual location). You can control whether our app has access to precise location data through your device settings.
- Analytics: We use third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to help us analyze traffic and usage patterns. These tools collect information like what pages you visit, how long you stay, how you came to our site, and where you click. This information helps us understand how users interact with our Service so we can improve it. These analytics data are generally collected by cookies or similar technologies. They provide us with statistical information, not your name or direct contact information.
C. Information We Receive from Third Parties
Sometimes, we receive information about you from other sources to supplement what you provide or what we collect automatically.
- Social Media and Single Sign-On: If you choose to register or log in to Ticket Taxi through a third-party account (such as Google, Facebook, or Apple), we will receive information from that third party, such as your name, email, and profile information. We only receive the information you authorize them to share with us. For example, these services often give you the option to share your contacts or friends list with us – we will only import that information if you explicitly allow it, and we will use it only for purposes explained at the time (such as to find friends on Ticket Taxi or invite friends with your permission).
- Ticketing Partners: In some cases, to fulfill your ticket purchases or sales, we might receive information from or share information with ticketing partners or platforms. For instance, if a ticket must be transferred to you via a venue's official ticket system (like Ticketmaster or a team's ticketing app), we may receive confirmation when you accept the ticket transfer. Or, if you list a ticket that originated from another marketplace, that marketplace might provide us data to help list your ticket on Ticket Taxi. We treat any information from partners with the same care as information we directly collect.
- Other Users: If someone buys a ticket you are selling, they might provide information (such as your email) to a ticketing system to transfer the ticket to you as the buyer – in those cases, that information comes through so we can facilitate the transfer. Alternatively, if a friend sends you a referral link or gift via Ticket Taxi, we might receive your email address from that friend. We will use that information for the purpose it was provided (for example, to send you the ticket or referral) and then, if we store it, it will be in accordance with this Policy.
- Public Sources: We might also supplement your information with data from public records or publicly available databases, but this is not common and typically would only be used for fraud prevention or identity verification purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for various purposes to operate our business and provide you with a great ticket-buying and selling experience. Here are the main ways we use your information:
- To Provide and Improve the Service: We use your personal information to create and manage your account, to process your ticket orders and sales, and to enable the core functionality of the marketplace. For example, we use it to allow you to list tickets, to process payments and payouts, to send you the tickets you purchase, and to display events that might interest you. We also use information to monitor and improve the performance of our Service, fix bugs, and make the user experience better for everyone.
- To Communicate with You: We use your contact information (email, phone number) to send confirmations, receipts, and updates about your transactions (such as booking confirmations, ticket delivery notices, or updates on event status). We may also send you notifications or alerts related to your use of the Service (for instance, if there's an issue with your listing or if an event is canceled or changed).
- For Customer Support: If you reach out to us with a question, feedback, or an issue, we will use your information to respond and resolve your query. This may require looking into your account details, order history, or communications with us.
- To Personalize Your Experience: We might use your information to personalize the content and recommendations you see on Ticket Taxi. For example, if we know your favorite sports team or music genre, we might highlight relevant upcoming events. We may also customize our marketing communications to be about events or offers we think you'll like.
- Marketing Communications: We may send you promotional emails or messages about upcoming events, special deals, or new features. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time (see the "Your Choices" section below). We will not spam you; our goal is to send you information that adds value, and you can always tell us if you prefer to receive less or none of these messages.
- Fraud Prevention and Security: We use information to keep Ticket Taxi safe, secure, and trustworthy. This includes using personal data to verify your identity (if necessary), to detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized ticket sales, to monitor for cheating or bots, and to enforce our Terms & Conditions. For example, we might use your IP address to ensure an account isn't being accessed from multiple regions at impossible times, or use device information to identify potentially malicious activity.
- Legal Compliance: We may use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal obligations. For instance, retaining records for tax purposes, or responding to lawful requests by government authorities.
- Other Purposes with Your Consent: If we ever want to use your information for a purpose not described in this Privacy Policy, we will ask for your consent. You are not obligated to consent just because we ask, and if you do consent to a new use, you can always change your mind later.
4. How We Share Your Information
We understand that sharing of your personal information should be done carefully and only when necessary. Ticket Taxi does not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. However, we do share information in certain circumstances, as outlined below, in order to run our Service and fulfill transactions:
- With Buyers and Sellers (Transaction Purposes): When you buy or sell a ticket on Ticket Taxi, we may need to share certain information between the buyer and the seller to complete the transaction. For example, if you are a buyer, we may share your first name and last name or email with the seller or the original ticket provider so they can transfer the ticket to you (such as via a mobile ticket transfer system). If you are a seller, we might share your provided email or phone number with the buyer solely for ticket delivery purposes (for instance, if the buyer needs to receive tickets through a third-party system that uses your contact info). We limit what information is shared and expect all users to respect others' information (using it only for transaction fulfillment).
- With Service Providers: We use trusted third-party companies to help us provide the Ticket Taxi Service. These include payment processors (to handle secure payments and payouts), cloud storage and hosting providers (to host our website, database, and data), email service providers (to send transactional and marketing emails), and customer support tools. We only share information with these service providers to the extent necessary for them to perform their functions on our behalf, and they are contractually obligated to protect it and use it only for those purposes.
- With Ticketing and Event Partners: In some cases, we partner with event organizers, venues, or other ticket platforms to ensure ticket validity and smooth entry to events. We may share information with such partners when you purchase a ticket to their events (for example, we might share an order confirmation or ticket barcode information with a venue's ticket system to confirm ticket authenticity). Similarly, if an event has an official resale integration, we might share data to facilitate that integration.
- With Analytics and Advertising Partners: We may share limited information (such as cookies or device identifiers) with analytics providers to understand how our users use the Service, as mentioned above. We might also allow advertising partners to set and access their own cookies or identifiers on our site to help deliver targeted ads for Ticket Taxi on other platforms (for instance, showing you an ad for an event on Ticket Taxi when you're on a different website). These partners would only have access to pseudonymous information – for example, they might know a browser with certain cookies visited a page about concerts, but not that you specifically by name did so. You can control cookie preferences as described in "Your Choices".
- Business Transfers: If Ticket Taxi goes through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy, your personal information may be transferred to a successor or affiliated entity as part of that process. If such a transfer occurs, your information will remain subject to the promises made in this Privacy Policy (unless you agree to new terms).
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request (for example, a subpoena, court order, or search warrant). We may also share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
Again, to emphasize: we do not sell your personal information to third parties outside of Ticket Taxi. We also do not share your personal details with third parties for their independent marketing or advertising without your consent.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You have choices about how your personal information is used and shared. We aim to provide you with control and transparency. Here are some of the choices and rights you have regarding your data:
- Access and Update Your Information: You can access and update much of your account information by logging into your Ticket Taxi account and editing your profile or settings. For example, you can update your contact information or change your saved payment methods. If you need assistance accessing or updating information that is not editable within your account, you can contact our support team for help.
- Opt-Out of Marketing Communications: If you prefer not to receive promotional emails or texts from us, you can opt out at any time. The easiest way is to click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email we send. You can also adjust your notification settings within your account (if available) or contact us to be removed from our marketing list. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send you important transactional or account-related communications (such as ticket purchase confirmations or notifications about changes to our terms or policies).
- Cookie Controls: As mentioned, you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when new cookies are set. Keep in mind that disabling certain cookies might affect the functionality of our Service (for example, you might need to log in every time or certain features might not remember your preferences). For our mobile app, your device may offer settings to control in-app tracking (for instance, resetting advertising identifiers or limiting ad tracking).
- Do Not Track Signals: Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that lets you signal to websites that you do not want to be tracked across sites. At this time, Ticket Taxi does not respond to DNT signals in a standardized way. However, as described in this Policy, you can opt out of certain tracking (like analytics and advertising cookies) by adjusting your browser or device settings.
- California Privacy Rights: If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other laws. These include the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you, the right to request deletion of your personal information (with some exceptions), and the right to opt out of the "sale" of your personal information (as defined by CCPA). As noted above, Ticket Taxi does not sell your personal information in the traditional sense (we don't exchange it for money with third parties for their marketing). If you have questions or requests regarding your personal information, you (or an authorized agent acting on your behalf) can contact us using the information in the Contact section below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
- Other State Privacy Rights: Some states may provide their residents with additional privacy rights. We aim to respect applicable state privacy laws. You can contact us for any specific concerns or requests related to state laws (for example, if you are a Nevada resident who wants to exercise opt-out rights under Nevada law).
- Closing Your Account: If you wish to close your Ticket Taxi account, you can do so by contacting our customer support. When you close your account, we will deactivate it. Please note we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., record-keeping, fraud prevention), as described below in Data Retention.
6. Data Security
We take security seriously and have implemented measures to protect your personal information. These measures include using encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted between your device and our servers, maintaining firewalls and intrusion detection systems to guard against external attacks, and limiting access to personal information to authorized employees and service providers who need it to perform their jobs.
No Guarantee: While we strive to protect your information, no website or internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that data breaches will never occur. We encourage you to help protect your own account by using a strong, unique password for Ticket Taxi and not sharing your account credentials with anyone.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. For example, we may retain your transaction history and basic account information for a certain period to comply with tax laws, to handle any disputes, and for fraud prevention. When personal information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it. If deletion is not feasible (for example, because the data is stored in backup archives), we will store it securely and isolate it from further use until deletion is possible.
8. Children's Privacy
Ticket Taxi is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use our Service or provide any information to us. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy. If the changes are significant, we may provide a more prominent notice (such as adding a statement on our homepage or sending you an email notification). We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
